Is TextPattern suitable for a software vendor site?
Would txp be suitable for an ISV site, basically a one-person shareware shop? It would consist mostly of static pages. I’d need one section per application, and within each section have a number of static pages (program description, download page, FAQ, screenshots, etc). I’d also need to install a forum and a bug tracker, and this would pretty much be the only dynamic content.
I hand-crafted HTML for years and would rather have something a little more automated. I’ve created a blog with txp, designed it from scratch, and I love the clarity and elegance of TextPattern. Yet I feel it’s not really a good match for a site that isn’t structured along a timeline. I’ll appreciate any advice!

Well I can get the ‘a’. But how do I put the circle around it?

Shouldn’t be a problem. Investigate first how people are going to pay for stuff, and how they will get them. If you can do that in TXP (by Paypal or something), the rest of it is easy. Just choose a god display order for your article, or create static ones and display them by hand.

Yes, but that would be no different than designing all the pages by hand, copying and pasting code between sections – this is what I’m trying to avoid, because I’ve been doing that, without txp, for 8 years :) And I don’t think txp can give me any automation, such as download stats, some sort of FAQ management, etc. That’s why I’m not really sure txp is suitable for this. Nor is any other popular CMS that I’ve tested, because they’re all based on a timeline concept, chronologically arranged posts.
Can sections be nested in txp, by the way? Right now I have 7 freeware apps, so that’s seven sections, and each of them needs several static pages: description, download links, screenshots, FAQ, what’s new, etc.
