issues displaying categories as well as individual posts..
This is the section I’m having issues with:
www.moded.info/design
2 problems:
- When you click on the categories (in this case, “Agenda”), nothing displays. I’d imagine that it should show you the posts that relate to that category.
- When you click on the actual post, it still only shows the Article Image, while there should be at least 2 more images.
This is where I’m confused..
I thought that you could use one form to display the posts within a section, then a seperate for it’s individual posts..
hopefully I’m being clear.
here’s the code I’m using for the form:
<h3><txp:category1 class=“returns” link=“n” title=“0” this_section=“0” /> / <txp:permlink><txp:title/></txp:permlink> « view project</h3>
<txp:article_image thumbnail=“0” />
Anything that you guys need, I’ll do my best to answer.
thanks,
Craig

Re: issues displaying categories as well as individual posts..
- Does your default section’s page have a regular article tag in it?
- The articles with the category “Agenda”: is their section set to display on the front page?
- I don’t see this. Have you fixed this since?

Re: issues displaying categories as well as individual posts..
I fixed the article image problem by reading around a bit.
I’m still stuck trying to display posts along with their excerpts when calling out a specific category.
Going back to the Agenda example here (www.moded.info./design), When I click on the “Agenda” link, I’d like to return something that resembles the design section, only specific to that category. Make sense?
As of now, it just goes to a list of all posts so far. That’s as far as I’ve got.
Here’s the code I have so far..
<txp:if_category>
<txp:recent_articles limit=“25” label=“Related Projects” break=“br” wraptag=“p” class=“list”/>
</txp:if_category>

Re: issues displaying categories as well as individual posts..
sorry, i should have been more clear..
i want http://moded.info/category/Agenda to return all the articles within that category.
for some reason, it doesn’t. i checked against a clean install and can’t understand why it’s still blank..

Re: issues displaying categories as well as individual posts..
I think I figured it out.
When I defined my sections, such as design, I told it that I didn’t want it displayed on the front page.
I assume now that this will cause my articles in that section associated with a specific category NOT to show up in the case I mentioned above.. right?
in this case though, it’s taking on the properties that the front page articles have (display only 1, no title, no permalink, display at random).. is there any way around that?

Ah I see. Category lists use the front page by default. You can also display them on a section page however. Use <txp:category_list section="design" /> to display your category pages in section ‘design’. Or <txp:category name="agenda" title="1" link="1" section="design" />.
