Re: TXPhorum: A simple forum solution for Textpattern
Mike,
That pinpoints it then … it’s the <txp:permlink />
function that I’m using to build the article’s url (to redirect to). I’ll take a closer look at that … is there something like, you have permlink set a particular way?

By having the permlink set a particular way — do you mean the permlink mode as set in preferences?
If so, I use “/section/title”

Re: TXPhorum: A simple forum solution for Textpattern
I’ve posted a new version of the plugin and the initial template here.
This update includes the following fixes and additions:
- Fixed Textile issue so now you can post <txp:article /> tags
- Fixed redirection issue
- Added some “user management” links
- Fixed the “reply count” code to re-count after each reply [prior to this, if you deleted any articles in the admin, that would not be reflected in the count [1]
- Changed the reply title to include the comment count, which helps make each title unique
- Moved some stray style rules out of the pages and forms and into the style
- Added the ability to specify which custom field you’ll be using to hold TXPhorum data
- More
Mike,
I think version 0.2 will fix your redirection issue (“document has moved”) but since I can’t see the error on my machine I don’t know for sure. In other words, I’m eager to hear your feedback on this one. Also, I’ve added your template to the downloads page. Let me know if you think I should edit that at all.

Re: TXPhorum: A simple forum solution for Textpattern
I am getting this error when I view a thread in the forum:
tag_error <txp:article_custom post_or_reply="2" form="forum_reply" sort="Posted asc" /> ->
Textpattern Notice: Unknown tag attribute: post_or_reply on line 582
I do have my custom field 2 renamed to post_or_reply

Re: TXPhorum: A simple forum solution for Textpattern
That’s because TxP doesn’t recognize custom fields names as valid tag attributes (I think because their are infinite posibilities to rename a custom field).
That error should disappear if you change from Testing to Production mode in Site Admin Preferences.

It does, actually (both article and article_custom). I think the error message you’re getting was a bug we’ve since fixed in svn. And yes, as Julián mentioned, changing your Production mode setting will hide it (it doesn’t break anything).

I see that your posts on the forms for mem_self_register are gone. Am I safe in assuming you are all set with those?
Did the suggestions above help with your error message?
If not, does your thread show replies under your post properly (other than the error message)?

maverick: Yeah I figured that stuff out.
Changing the production mode hid the errors for the other
Mary—what do you mean by “a bug we’ve since fixed in svn” ? Is there a new version of something I need to download?

OpalCat,
Would you mind posting the link to your forum? I’d like for people to be able to visit a few to see what they look like.
