Re: ign_password_protect

Lee – set txp to testing rather than live, and tell me if the problem goes away. If it does, then download 0.5b4 – note that this version will effectively override any of TXP’s built-in caching. I will be working on doing more selective cache overriding, but for now it’s an all or nothing proposition.

Re: ign_password_protect

Changing the status to testing rather than live didn’t solve the issue. The same thing happened.

Re: ign_password_protect

is the cookie destroyed on logout? and more importantly, what version of ign_password_protect are you using?

Re: ign_password_protect

Am using beta 3 of the latest version. I never upgraded to beta 4 as you had mentioned it over rides all txp cache settings. Would you like me to test this one?

As far as I can tell, the cookies are not being destroyed. ign_login and ign_stay are both set to expire one year from now after logout.

Re: ign_password_protect

Okay I’ve deleted the cookies and now I can’t stay logged in to the page where I originally logged in. I can view other password protected pages, but when I browse back to the original place where I logged in, it displays the login form. This only happens in Firefox. Internet Explorer is working fine.

I’ll keep debugging.

Re: ign_password_protect

liam – if the installation’s reachable from the outside world, send login info to igner at igneramos dot com, and I’ll take a look-see.

Re: ign_password_protect

just for folks playing along at home – it appears that Liam’s issue was in fact one of local caching, and 4.0.4’s smarter behaviour in terms of sending 304’s when content hasn’t changed.

Try version 0.5b4 if you’re seeing weird behavior like this.

Re: ign_password_protect

hmm, I just tested the download and it worked fine (though I noticed I forgot to change the version number, that’s fixed). try re-downloading and installing.

Re: ign_password_protect

Just tried again, and got the same error. Used a different box, different location. Tried using both FF and Safari, opening txt w/ BBEdit and Textedit… all the same. VV weird.

Hope I can figure this one out….

Re: ign_password_protect

Tried again with a fresh install of 4.0.4, got the same “Badly formed or empty” error message. I’d really like to get this one running.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

igner,

Would love to test-drive 0.5, too, but same error here for 0.5b2 and 0.5b4; 0.4.2d installs flawlessly.

Maybe as a workround, I could edit and overwrite the 0.4.2d code with that of 0.5b?

Thanks a lot,

Gerhard
