Crazy Comment Spam

I’ve found textpattern to be really good at controlling comment spam. I’ve had a few incidences in the past, but nothing major. I would just change the article title or URI that was getting spammed and it would stop.

However, yesterday, my site got spammed like crazy. They put like 100 spam comments in a bunch of different articles on the site. I don’t know how they did it, but they did. Now I’m afraid that it’s going to keep up forever and I’m just going to spend my time deleting the spam comments and changing the article names.

Does anyone know if there is a plug in or something to prevent this from keeping on happening? I would like to only use comment moderation as a last resource, if possible.

Thanks!
Naomi
