[wiki] Questoin about image admin

Hi. I`m new to TP, and so far it`s awesome.
My question is really about the Site Administration Wiki..
linktext
In the Content section, Images Subtab, Files Subtab and Comments Subtab are shown in red and lead to a page that asks me to log in to edit. I don`t really want to edit them, just read them. Am I missing something ?

Nobody has written it.

That’s how a WIKI works: allows you to make links to new pages desired for anyone to fill in. How that is styled can vary, it depends upon the WIKI software and your settings for it. The default for TextBook appears to be making them red.

Re: [wiki] Questoin about image admin

red means that there is no text affiliated with the link yet but it is expected that someone should/will write something about that subject. The wiki is a team effort so anybody can ask for an account and help in the documentation

—edit —

way you go mary. I was on it but You were faster:)

Re: [wiki] Questoin about image admin

Ok, well, in that case… I’m experimenting with content, as I`m new to this..
So, I uploaded an image, gave it the category “Site Design”, (which should put it on the front page, yes ?) gave it alt text and a caption.
It doesn`t show up. What am I doing wrong ?
Also, while I have your attention, how does one create internal links, for instance, I would like to have links to the Categories I have created on the front page as well. I read the links section, but if it`s there I missed it.

No. If you want stuff to show up, you must use tags.

…how does one create internal links…

Again: tags.

More tags than you can shake a stick at. (I don’t know about you, but the WIKI appears to be down at the moment…)

Re: [wiki] Questoin about image admin

I guess a more direct question would have been: How do I find the url for a category, so I can build a tag ?

Hello ?
Is there a way to build a link to a content category, or do I need to build a separate page ffor that ?

depends on what url scheme you are using. If you use clean urls category addresses appear as yoursite.com/category/your_category

Is there a way to build a link to a content category, or do I need to build a separate page ffor that ?

depends on what you want to achieve…

Re: [wiki] Questoin about image admin

Did you look at the category-related tags?

Re: [wiki] Questoin about image admin

Well, Mary, yes, I did. But I`m a graphics guy, not much of a coder. Not understanding the language very well, it didn`t really tell me much. When talking to me about code, (being a code-tard) a “Small Words and Crayons” approach works best. I should have mentioned that before. This reminds me of learning Photoshop. I knew what I wanted to accomplish, but until I learned the terms and conditions, I didn`t know how to find the information I nedded. I am finding myself in that undesirable position again, and it`s making my neck hurt, if you know what I mean. On that note, I remember seeing during set up a tick box for short URLs, and can`t seem to find it now. Where was that ?

Sorry, it`s Clean URLs and I found the instructions, but they seem to be incomplete.

Re: [wiki] Questoin about image admin

Ok, I appologise for being stupid, but, let`s say, for instance, I have on my front page a short description , hello, welcome, bla, bla. I wish to place an image below this with a caption, but do not want it in the template. The image is in the images folder and it`s ID is 2.
How do I do that ?
