Getting Amazon output using PHP or JS and ISBN no.s?

For my work I’ve got to figure out the easiest way for some less than techy folks to add or remove books with Title (linked), Author, and Image (linked).
This is sadly, not on TXP :)

I can create forms (or something similar) for articles, so I have the ability to throw user data into something similar to custom_fields.

Anybody know of any good scripts out there to help do this trick? Perhaps a tutorial. I’m all googled out. Can’t find what I’m looking for.

Re: Getting Amazon output using PHP or JS and ISBN no.s?

Matthew,

So to make sure I understand you want to achieve the following:

Add
——-
The user types in either title or author (or both)
They are presented a list of books that match their search
The user selects a book
The selected book is added as an “article” or equivalent to the site

Remove
—————-
The user just deletes the “article” or equivalent from the site

———————-
Is that what you’re looking to achieve? If so, there is a good article out there that walks you through this using PHP. I’ll find it for you in a bit.

Re: Getting Amazon output using PHP or JS and ISBN no.s?

variaas,
Yes, that is what I am looking for.
On the one hand I need it for work (outside of txp),
and I am happy to simply include an isbn no. in some prefixed links like this:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/<isbn no.>

on the other hand I think this community would love to see something like that as a plugin.

It would be a huge boon to friendliness for common bloggers.

This WordPress plugin does exactly that. Perhaps it could be ported?
