MySQL on OSX

sorry if this is off topic-first post.
im trying to get text pattern running locally on osx10.4.8 on a 64bit system.
i havnt got far because i cant get mysql going. i downloaded the smaller download of mysql 5.0 and was unable to get the daemon going

i get “cannot execute binary file” when i try to create a new database or start it up.

anyway my question was should i download an older version of mysql to run locally on osx?

Re: MySQL on OSX

If you have Intel > Intel! If you have PPC > PPC! That’s simple … isn’t it … :)

Re: MySQL on OSX

If you do not know what you have, go for universal which is compatible with both ppc and intel
