How do I easily create a txp tag from the Write page for images?

I’m working on creating a video site that displays the excerpt tag in front, with full body on click through.

I’m looking for an easier way to create the txp image tag for the article.

For instance, now, if I want to use the image manager built into text pattern, I have to click the images tab, upload the image, click the textpatter link, copy the tag, switch over to the write tab and paste it in.

This is clunky. It’s also a pain, when, for example, I start to write an article, then remember I want to put in an image, so I have to mark the article hidden, save, flip over to the image tab, do all of the above, go back over to articles, edit the hidden article, then paste the tag in.

Again, clunky and annoying.

What I’d love is a link builder, like on the pages tab. Nothing fancy. I don’t even need to upload there, If I could, say, click on a link builder link, get a popup that allows me to choose from the available images, then build the link that I can cut and paste from there back into my article, without having to leave the write tab, that’d be great.

I’ve been searching the plugins site and this forum, but since “images, link, write” and other related keywords are extremely common, I’m having a hard time finding anything relevent.

Is there a way to do this with a plugin or other method?

I’d like to not have to write it myself.

Is upm_img_popper something for you?

(BTW you can have more than one tab (write, images, …) open at one time, so you don’t have to save and close one to look for something in another one.)
