Filtering articles by section dropdown

When having a lot of articles, we get a lot of scrolling and paginating.

Much better would be an additional dropdown box containing the sections – so you could filter the articles with.

The selection dropdown for the pages should be on top of the page, too!

This is also valid for the images.. no extra costs :)

I guess you are talking about the back end… 4.0.4 has a search which does just this.

Even if you have the 100 limit, it’s not that far down is it?

Yes: You type in the name of the desired section and then change the pulldown to “section”.
This is a lot of clicks which you do again and again when you have to edit several pages.

the admin interface has no performance issues, so i dont get the point why there shouldnt be a dropdown for sections, maybe even another for category alongside the serach filed which you need for the body text at least.

If I use one distinct txp installation not every day I might have forgotten how exactly the section I look for is named. With the dropdown it would be clear what is there, I cant mistype.

The selection dropdown for the pages should be on top of the page, too!

Maybe, but in almost all discussion forums you have navigation on top and below the pages.

And its a feature suggestion, not a bug report!

bumpety

New wish: more IDs at admin side. Such functionality is easy with plugins but only article edit screen has enough css selector IDs. (i’m using such dropdown menu..)
