How can I get static pages to appear in search?

I am in the very, very beginnings of my TXP install here (revisiting using the app).

If you try to search for one of the words appearing on the static pages (all the pages but the front page) like “placeholder” or “contact” you don’t get anything.

What do I need to do to get the static pages to appear in search like the articles (which if you search for a word in the only article up, works like a charm)?

The search function searches articles in the database. So if you want your static pages to be included in the search, create sections and one or more articles for them. (FAQ)

As far as I can tell this is what I have done – I followed that tutorial to create my sections, adding the static_page and new form and created “sticky” articles.

If I make the articles live instead of sticky they appear in the search but not on their respective static pages anymore.

I changed the static_pages status to live and that did the trick.

Thanks for your help.

If you prefer to keep them sticky, add searchsticky="1" to the article tag.

I’d say it’s comming along nicely. What I’m wondering is how you made the different tabs like Articles, Resources, ETC to goto differnet non article pages. I know the tabs are apart of the skin. But clickabe so it doesn’t go to a plain html file or seperate folder. It stays on your site. Are those static pages and not articles.

Thanks,
