Article list within category list?
Is there a plug-in out there that would generate an article list within a category list, showing linked article titles as a nested list underneath the current article’s category?
ie like a 3rd level nav menu that could be used in a sidebar:
category
——- article
——- article
——- article
category
category
category
If there isn’t, anyone fancy writing one? I’d be more than happy to kick of donations for one with a healthly sum! : )
Thanks.

Re: Article list within category list?
Chances are that an archive plugin is what you’re looking for.

Re: Article list within category list?
Cheers Mary.
Do you think it is possible to adapt rss_live_archive to group articles by category rather than year/month so that I get the structure I am after?
I have no idea about altering the plugin code but I will have a play with the attributes and see what comes up.

Hmm, I don’t know if it can (without actually modifying quite a bit of the plugin itself). I think rss_suparchive might do what you want.

Re: Article list within category list?
Hi Mary,
I am trying to use rss_suparchive to get this navigation working….no luck so far. Can you tell me a bit more about how you think I might do it? At the moment I just have the plugin operating as a basic list (not styled up yet) with:
<txp:rss_suparchive_bycat section="resources" linktosection="resources" showcats="1" showcatcount="0" showcatsonly="1"/>
I guess the logic I am trying to acheive is:
If you have landed on the “resources” section ‘homepage’ :
rss_sup shows just category list in sidebar
If you choose a category:
First article of that cat is displayed in main content area and…
…rss_sup shows article list only for current category in sidebar (with other categories still listed, order staying the same).
I have no idea how to acheive this!
Thanks for any help. Am struggling : (

Re: Article list within category list?
I’m trying to showcase the most recent/lead article more prominently than the others.
I have an article list on my Home page (a list of 4 articles). Is it possible to make the most recent article layout differently than the ones under it?
Any advice or tutorial links would be greatly appreciated.

Does if_first_article help at all? Failing that, if you’re running TXP 4.3.0 you can always try smd_featured.

[OT] laptophobo Your Q is OT in this thread :) But you might want to look into the limit
and offset
txp:article attributes and use two different forms.

Stef. I’ve moved the question over to smd_featured. Marcus, Thanks for pointing that out for me. I have posted my follow-up questions there.
