Expanding cat list sidebar menu

Hi everyone,

Is there a way I can create a sidebar menu that is a list of categories that expands to reveal article titles if there is more than one article in that category ie:
Category
article
article
article
article
article
Category
article
article
article
article
article
Category
..etc

If there is only one article in a cat then there is no expansion.

At the moment I have this
…with the 3rd level of navigation (ie article titles) appearing as a list in the main content area.
