What does: "Commenting closed for this article" mean?

When I click on the “Comments” link underneath an article, the one comment from the past appears and then it says: “commenting closed for this article”.

What does this mean?

My settings related to commenst under my settings are this:

• Moderate comments —> yes

• On by default —> yes

• Accept comments —>yes

What am I missing?

Thanks all!
Dada

Re: What does: "Commenting closed for this article" mean?

Commenting is disabled in articles after a set period of time. Check your admin settings to see what this time frame is currently set to. You can adjust the setting to whatever you want. Under the preferences tab, at the bottom, it says “disabled after”. The timeframe set here will dictate how long comments will be allowed for an article.

Did that make sense?
