Display ascii ampersand (&) in site name?

Hi all,
I am busy designing a site, which has an ampersand in its name. How do I get it to display the right way with textpattern?

In the Admin section I put “Site&Name” for the Site Name. However, the browser then displays this: Site&Name
The textpattern control panel displays it just fine… but the actual site doesn’t….

I can honestly I have never see special characters such as an ampersand used in the Titles of websites. But I could be missunderstanding what you want to do. There may be some javascript hack you could google it, from my quick search it seems you may be SOL but I wish you luck. There are lots here who know more than I do.

It looks like a bug. It seems the title is being double-escaped. This will get fixed.

I am having a similar problem in when I use a “,” (comma) in my site name, it gets turned into a “ | “. Is this something with 4.0.4 causing this?

No, it’s not textpattern. Maybe a plugin?

Sencer, I am thinking possibly the ob1_title plugin is causing it? I am using the “ | “ as my separator. For some reason, it appears to be turning my comma into this symbol.

You’ll need to seek out the plugin author for assistance.

I am not using this plugin, so I think it is partially due to txtpattern. I hope they do something about it in the next version..
