Hi all,
I greatly improved my javascript skills recently. I’m going to publish a better version of the plugin, based on mootools this time, by the end of the week after the next stable release of mootools. The only problem is that it will not be able to detect connection failures because of a limitation in moo.ajax (despite the fact I found a way to update the moo.ajax code to do this but the author of mootools keeps ignoring my requests), but this should not be a problem in 99% of the cases. The plugin will detect connection failures (if the code added recently to mootools does not change).
This will make the plugin really lighter.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I’ve kept my promises; the new stable release of mootools is out so here’s the new version of my plugin , based on mootools! Same effect, more robust, less bugs, and a lot smaller download.
- Now uses the mootools framework instead of Prototype and moo.fx, for a smaller download size. The code was mostly rewritten to take full advantage of this new framework.
- Now connection failures and server errors will be detected and the results list will disappear automatically, instead of infinite wait.
- Less HTML is now written in the page.
- Bugfix: The results list was wrongly sized in Internet Explorer during the very first display when the width was not fixed. Now you always need to set the width for the results list using CSS.
- Bugfix: The live search field was always styled as “inactive”, even when it had the focus.

I love this plugin, thanks a lot for creating it! :)
I’ve one nagging question, and it’s just for aesthetics reasons. How do I change the listing of the results from using <br> tags to using <li>? I want to use the same tiny sunflower image next to the name of the article concerned, such as the ones in my Archives section.
Edit: Obviously I don’t know what wraptags are, gotta learn more about it. I had it solved!

Nice website. Happy you like the plugin.
I made some mootools scripts lately, and I’m also contributing to mootools (look at the mootools changelog) which I think is a great javascript framework.

Hi there , i have installed the plugin cbs_live_search, but it doesn’t seem to work, i always get 0 article found , when entering a word and pressing enter it seem to work but i don’t get any result in the dropdown

This plugin stops working with the latest version of mootools – v.1. I tried including ALL components on the mootools download page, and it still does not work. Warning for others – hopefully Christophe will update his plugin…
