Attach title to permalink could not be turned off
Textpatter 4.0.4 fresh install.
TXP Ambiru template.
No matter how I turn the “attach title to permalink” on or off, the title is ALWAYS added to the permalink. How can I totally deactivate it?

I’ve tried yyyy/mm/dd/title and section/title and neither seemd to work without title.
And when I tried deleting the URL title mannually the title was again added automatically.

Maybe it’s hardcoded in that template.
Look for the form (presentation -> form) that is being used to “render” the article list.
There is a chance that you find something similar to this:
<a href="<txp:permlink />" title="Permanent link to <txp:title />"><txp:title /></a>

I’m afraid I don’t think so as when I input the URL title manually, the title won’t be added then.
I tested this case with the option “section/id” and the title was not added.
And I searched all the form templates that resulted with no such kind of things.
So what’s wrong here…
I’ve read an article that WordPress has URL rewriting issues with PHP5. Thus I wonder if TXP also has problem with PHP5 that is offered by my host.

I think that if you had it ‘on’ first, and then turn if ‘off’, the old titles won’t be deleted, the setting will just affect new entries (see TextBook).
As a sidenote, I don’t see how you can have permanent link modes other than section/id with this turned off…

You can’t. /section/id/title and /id/title are the only permalink modes where this preference applies.
