How to import images for photoblog?

I have an idea to make something that would probably be easiest to describe as a photoblog. I will have tons of images and I’d like it so that each image is “commentable”. Is there a way to “import” the starting pack of images into txp, or is my only solution to manualy create those first 300 or so articles? For later it’s not a big deal, it would be like a couple of images per day/week, but I don’t want to start out with a poor base of images/articles.

Is there some sort of a plugin/hack that would allow this?
