Re: Admin Facelift. Take 3

Thanks guys!

I’m not big on yellow myself, just trying to keep true to TXP branding. If I had it my way it would all be turquoisey…cest la vie

Re: Admin Facelift. Take 3

You’re doing a lovely work with the facelift!
The question is (once again) … ¿When this would be ready to use with Textpattern?

Cheers!

Re: Admin Facelift. Take 3

This is indeed a lovely facelift, not only visible but usability is improved too.

Its just a preference I have for not using hyphens in class/id names..this way i can select them with just a double click, copy/paste them around, etc

I feel the same way. Hyphens area real problem, for example, when e-mailing URIs around as the e-mail client inevitibly breaks the URI up onto multiple lines.

I have been using underscores for fifteen years, and I see no reason to change.

I was thinking of hacking into Textpattern to make this change (for clean URIs), then considered maybe making a plug-in for it (so it’s not broken after updates), though I have never made a plug-in before. Have you made this change? Is a plug-in already available? Any hints you can give me?

Glad you dig it! As for an ETA, I am waiting for the core devs to solidify the HTML a bit before I do some CSS magic. Once I get a green light from the Team, I will be able to provide the necessary code and graphics here. As it stands, this facelift would require too much hacking through core files in order to overcome all that inline styling.

Ace, it looks fantastic. Any idea when might it show up in a new back-end?

Re: Admin Facelift. Take 3

Wish I knew, Marco. I had asked Mary ages ago for some kind of html template to mess with, but apparently the next release has not been groomed to a final state yet. On the bright side, once I do get something to work with, I should be able to crank out and de-bug the CSS in just a few days. My cascading style has kung-fu grip action!

Re: Admin Facelift. Take 3

In the meantime i’ve made new tabs to use in the administration area.

All you got to do is replace the existing files in the txp_img folder, inside the textpattern installation.

Download 75% opacity drop-shadow

:edit: and now, a lighter version:

Download 20% opacity drop-shadow

Very nice patchwork,

however I would make the shadows a bit less dark and move them back a bit.
