The release of TxPun?
Hi,
I have a question for Bert Garcia in perticular. When will TxPun be released. I can’t wait to try it out :)
For those of you who havn’t heard of it it is a framework that integrates textpattern, PunBB and the image gallery Singapore.
Learn more about it at: www.TxPun.com

Re: The release of TxPun?
joel,
Right now all my efforts are aimed towards PunBB 1.3, which is at the center of TxPun.
Once the Forum is in place and integrated with the CMS, then we’ll start working on the Gallery side of things. Keep in mind that it’s a work in progress, I have no release schedule since I’m dependent on other projects.
Please note, TxPun is not a fork, it’s a repackaging of the core apps, call it my own Debian distro ;)

Re: The release of TxPun?
This looks exciting and would be very useful. CMS, Image Gallery and forum straight out of the box, it makes me want to drool.
Just out of curiosity, if you have an existing Textpattern and PunBB installation, how easy would it be to upgrade to TxPun and make sure that everyone keeps their logins, PunBB / Textpattern posts and profiles etc?

Re: The release of TxPun?
Ross,
TxPun would just a re-packaging of Textpattern and PunBB with plugins and extensions needed for integration.
For an existing install, you would need to upgrade to whatever versions of Textpattern and PunBB are included in TxPun and then go about installing the plugins into Textpattern and the extensions into PunBB. Some tweaking to your Textpattern pages and forms would probably also be needed, let’s say if you wanted to use the forum for commenting.
The best method I envision is to install TxPun locally and then go about understanding how it all fits together and then apply the needed changes to your live site.

Re: The release of TxPun?
Thank you, that makes sense. When it’s released I’ll definitely take a look.

Re: The release of TxPun?
Where did you get the expand/collapse feature here on the forums? I was trying to install a script on my punbb cause I can’t find a mod for it, couldn’t figure out the punbb php as it generates each forum category with the same markup, I’m not a programmer.
