Greek translation messed up

Hi everyone.

I noticed that the greek text is not displayed corectly after the update of the 15th August (this date is shown in the “manage languages” section). The problem seems to be in the encondig. In place of some letters (for example the character ρ) “trash” characters are shown.

I noticed also the same situation in the greek textpattern forum.

What exactly happened that caused this problem?

Thanks

Andreas

Re: Greek translation messed up

Could somebody look into this? The Greek forum looks like a mess because of this problem, and so does the Greek translation file.

Re: Greek translation messed up

I found this and this entry in the dev-blog which describe a possible cause of the problem.

Re: Greek translation messed up

Can you confirm me that it’s fixed now?

Re: Greek translation messed up

@kusor

remains wrecked.
All thread titles on localized index page.
Had already reported it once. It happened with the previous update not the last one.

@ankar, nice to see you back.
There are not many of us from Greece. I wonder where Spyros is.

regards, marios

Re: Greek translation messed up

Hi everyone. The Greek translation is much better now, thanks Pedro for this. There are just a few remaining strings in the translation file that still need to be fixed. I’ve already let Pedro know which ones these are.

Re: Greek translation messed up

Pedro, thanks for your help. The greek forum and the greek translation file are fixed now with the exception of some strings in the latter as Niko already noticed.

The problem remains in all the translations of the help text.

If is there anything we can do to help you with the corrections please let us know.

@marios
Nice to see you too.

Regards

Andreas

Re: Greek translation messed up

Thanks for the Fix Pedro,

(One small problem in the table field, is the char limit)

I tried to post with 45 characters, and that didn’t work.

regards, marios

Re: Greek translation messed up

There is still an ancoding Issue with the popup help lang strings.
Possible cause: not UTF-8 encoded.

One question: How can we get at these files, to submit some new ones ?
( Since they are not part of the def lang files )

Re: Greek translation messed up

@marios
You have to become a translator. Contact Etz Haim here or one of the administrators (e.g. kusor).

Re: Greek translation messed up

@ankar, thanks. I’ve done that yesterday.

One question: How would you translate the term “sticky” for sticky article ?
Also (“Bold” in Typographic Sense)

Any Ideas ?

regards, marios
