Re: Top Plugins 2006

Essential Plug-ins, installed on all my TXP projects
  1. rss_admin_db_manager – Database management system.
  2. hak_tinymce – A TinyMCE based WYSIWYG editor.
  3. ebl_BatchUpload – Adds Multiple Upload Capability to Textpattern.

Life Saving Plug-ins, that helped fix specific project issues

  1. rss_unlimited_categories – Enable unlimited categories (tags) per article.
  2. ign_password_protect – Password protect articles or sections.

Useful Plug-ins

  1. bas_lightbox – Brings the Lightbox JS v2.0 to textpattern.
  2. ajw_if_comment_owner – Allows checking one or multiple comment field values to “verify” an indentity.
  3. mem_self_register – User self registration.
  4. ob1_title – An enhancement for txp:page_title with more features.
  5. Postmaster – Simple email-on-post/newsletter manager for Textpattern.
  6. upm_quicktags – Quicktags for articles, forms and pages.

Re: Top Plugins 2006

sure :)
gpb_permanent_links made it finally not only possible but EASY to have clean urls configured exactly like i want. I can use section/category/title, which is my most used scheme, and I can define different url schemes for different sections. And all this in a simple interface, that any non-programmer can understand.

mcw_templates allows me to use, modify, and export complete “themes” (stylesheets, pages and forms). With it I can simply edit my files in my favorite editor (with advantages like code highlighting and undo’s) upload, and tell textpattern to import. That makes it so much easier to manage the look of my sites, even switching complete themes with the switch of the button.

These 2 are the plugins i would most wish were integrated with txp’s core, as I feel that they’re not just extras, they’re really improving upon the main functionality.

Re: Top Plugins 2006

Definitely gbp_permanent_links. It opens up all sorts of possibilities. It’s a tour de force.

asy_wondertag has the potential to make numerous small plugins unecessary.

mcw_templates brings themeing much closer to reality.

These should be installed in everyone’s TXP sites.

Oh and wet_for_each_image, it’s almost <txp:article /> for images
