OK everyone. There’s version 0.8.1 out, which fixes the bug Ace of Dubs reported. Upgrade recommended.
p_see, this point is meant to be there. I’d be interested however to know in which way you think that it “breaks the url”, so please return with more specific information.
<code>$etz_pg[‘linkstub’] .= (etz_pg_permlinkmode() == 1) ? ‘?pg=’ : ‘&pg=’;</code>
WITH VERSION 0.8
I get this sort of url: http://127.0.0.1/textpattern/index.php?id=239http://127.0.0.1/textpattern/index.php?id=239&pg=2
without the point: http://127.0.0.1/textpattern/index.php?id=239&pg=2
WITH VERSION 0.8.1
it dœsn’t appear, the url are well formed. So this point no more cause trouble.
Thank’s again

“Impatient”?
I prefer the term “inspired” ;)
I downloaded your update, but I still like my guinea-pig mutant version and plan to use it for my next project. Thanks again for getting this done so fast, I would not have been able to hack this together without your custom field code. You rock!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] etz_pg for paginated articles
For those willing to test the features in forthcoming etz_pg version, may test the 0.10“development” version. Besides fixing some logical errors from 0.9, it provides text attribute to the txp:etz_pg_custom tag. The text attribute defaults to the the template variable “%t”, which corresponds to the title of the referenced page.
For an example, you may create a “teaser” link like Ace’s above by writing:
<txp:etz_pg_if_titles><txp:etz_pg_custom page="1" link="1" text="Next page: %t »" mode="rel" /></txp:etz_pg_if_titles>
Or alternatively, to the previous page:
<txp:etz_pg_if_titles><txp:etz_pg_custom page="-1" link="1" text="« Previous page: %t" mode="rel" /></txp:etz_pg_if_titles>
Got it? You can creatively combine etz_pg_custom with any of the other tags already available. Read the plugin’s included documentation.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] etz_pg for paginated articles
0.10 has passed its probation period by not having received any bug reports. Therefore, its no longer a “development” version and anyone may use it for purposes other than testing.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] etz_pg for paginated articles
I’m using version 0.10. In the last page of a split article, it cuts off part of the last closing p tag. If I end the article right at the end of the last line, I’ll get a trailing < character. If I add a blank line after it, I’ll get </p
You can see it here: http://gwrpa.org/gotm/soa/2/ana-atsauna-qehara-tave-et-al?pg=4
Otherwise, it works great. I love this plugin.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] etz_pg for paginated articles
ninmix: Are you following the instructions carefully? After the end of your last paragraph (a newline itself) on one page, put a newline, then [page], then a newline, and then your first paragraph at the page that follows. If you have an article split in i.e. x pages, then the number of [page] tags is x-1.
Also, when reporting a possible bug, please include the version numbers of the plugin, TXP and PHP.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] etz_pg for paginated articles
I’m using textpattern 4.04, with plugin version 0.10.
This only happens on the last page of a split article. All the other pages work fine, and when viewing one-page articles it’s fine. I’ve also tried using switchmode, and the full article display is fine. This seems to only happen on a split article, on the very last page.

I have exactly the same problem with the trailing character.
Also Does anybody know how to make it show the comments only at the last page and not in all pages?
Thanks in advance

There are conditionals for that cause. Read the included documentation.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] etz_pg for paginated articles
I had that same problem with the trailing < and all. The space works to get rid of it, since it, but when I don’t use textile its a bit problematic. I simply added a <p> at the end of the article and it got rid of it, adding a </p> afterwards… sorta weird…

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] etz_pg for paginated articles
Etz,
I am currently trying to use the following tag:
<txp:etz_pg_custom text=”%t” link=“1” />
However I get no output at all, just whitespace.
I tested that the custom field was defined and functioning properly by using the following tag:
<txp:etz_pg_custom page=“1” mode=“rel” link=“1” />
The output I got from that tag was the next page’s name with a link to it, just like I expected.
So given that the custom fields seem to be working, why is it that I get a completely blank output when using the first tag mentioned?
Thanks!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] etz_pg for paginated articles
Is the trailing < considered a bug? I have to add two spaces at the end of every article in order for it to go away. I love this plugin — but would consider the trailing < issue to be a bug.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] etz_pg for paginated articles
This looks like a great plug-in! Thank You!
Feature suggestion:
Ability to specify a number of characters/words/paragraphs and then have the article automatically split there.
For a site with a lot of contributing writers having them insert [page] into the article is something they willl very likely forget or get confused by…especially if they have to do it multiple times for large articles.
Forgive me if this is already possible…I checked the documentation and didn’t find anything about it.
Cheers,
—
Tom
