Article number (within catagory)
Hi
I have been slowly working away on my lists site, and with some much appreciated help from the guys here I am getting a reasonable amount of hits.
I am now in the proccess of refining the design to make it a little less ‘blog-like’. I would like to give each article it’s own number, i.e. the latest article would be 1, the next newest 2 and so on. These numbers would only be relative to the catagory currently being displayed, not site wide. I would like to display the number along side the article it relates to.
I’ve tried to do this myself, by adding the number in a custom field, but everytime I get a new article I have to update every other previous one.
If anyone knows of a way to get Textpattern to create the number I’d love to hear about it!

You would have to create a plugin to do it.
