Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
- managin_editor: one of the user’s types. It’s used when creating users
- reset_author_password: Used from the user’s admin screen too, intended to be useful when some one of the users forget the access pwd.
- writer: Another user type used from the same place
- staff_writer: same thing than previous.
- article_markup: markup type to use for the current article; it’s on advanced options on the article edit screen
- excerpt_markup: same than previous but for article excerpt
- no_articles_recorded: This is displayed on the article listing when there are no articles on the DB
- or_publish_at: when to publish the article, at the current time “or publish at” the time you intro
- override_default_form: another advanced option: override the form used in order to list articles on that section page
About the lang-code, don’t worry, save it as da-dk.txt AS UTF8 encoded and we will take care of locale settings.
And, about comments, you can precede them with the “#” sign at the beginning of the line but, the less comments, the better, since the file needs to be parsed in order to install the language.
Thank you!

(this would be a great help, so I can remember the context. A lot of Danish words are ambigous and therefore it is nice to know in which context they are used)
You’ll only be workin with the text file once. If you keep on maintaining the language, you’l get access to the backend, and have UI to translate new and changed strings. o I don’t think it’s really worth it to add any comments.

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
Hi everyone,
After a long hiatus, I am updating the Thai (ไทย) localisation to catch up with the 4.0.4. While it is yet not completely translated, the updated version is better than the current one on RPC with some typos fixed and better translations.

Would I be able to get a translators’ account, kusor? I was the original translator for the Thai localisation since the days that I had to mail the updated language file to Dean (see original topic).

Of course, you will. I’m currently updating all the localizations and help related stuff and will start to send mails to every translators ever in order to get the babel house ordered again. I’ll send you the required data to your mailbox.
Thanks!

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
I am currently translating the Danish language file.
I have reached the word translation admin => Admin
. What is the context here? Is it short for administrator? Or maybe administrate as a verb? Or something else? It would be nice if the language file contained comments to make the context clear.

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
In what context is range => Range
used? In Danish we have a lot different context dependent words for “range”.

Hi!, I’m translating TXP to Galician (Galiza) and i have the same problem as tdn. It would be very useful that the language file contains comments to explain the context…
And, what are the advantages of a translator account, kusor?

Re: [Obsolete] Translating Textpattern to ...
What is the “for” in this:
banned_for => Banned For
And why do you use a capital F in for?
