Flickr Thumbnail Display

Hi guys,

I am using Txp 4.0.4 and installed the “vdh_flickr” plugin.

You can see it here:

One question: I would like the thumbnails to be links to the photos on my flickr page.
So if you click on them, I would like that a new window opens and displays the full image on my flickr page instead of displaying the images on my home page.

Can someone tell me how to accomplish this? I also looked at other flickr plug-ins but either the download link was missing or they wouldn’t install. Hm…

Isn’t there a javascript include (<script src="http://flickr.com/..../.js" type="text/javascript"></script>) on Flickr’s site?

It’s been a while since I used that plugin because of compatibility issues, but I’m pretty sure all you need to do is create and modify the appropriate pages and forms. If you view the help section of the plugin it should review which forms and pages you can create. From there you can direct it to automatically go to your flickr page.

Hi all and thanks for your responses!

I looked at the plug-in info but still can’t figure out how I would make it work so the thumbnail images when clicked go to the full image on my flickr page instead displaying on my home page.

I like the idea of including .js but since I am not a programmer I am lost.

Is there a tutorial or useful link on how to achieve this?

Try flcikr help (about 3/4 way down “Can I put my Flickr photos on my website?”), flickr tools, or this guide to styled streams

I cancelled my flickr account awhile ago, so I don’t have any experience with any of the above (use TXP for photos!).

Have a look at phpFlickr, might be something worthwhile to play with.

I’ve always run my own galleries, I do have a Flickr account but never really used it.

The functionality you want is build right into vdh_flickr. See the Documentation under “Step 2: Attributes concerning the thumbnail view”. The attribute you are looking for is open=“flickr”.
