I use Winamp, I listen to SomaFM for most of the day.

Groove Salad – A nicely chilled plate of ambient beats and grooves.

You can use Streamripper for recording the MP3 stream.

3WK and Soma are my Favs. Underground indie sounds. I have found many a small independent band through listening. Real Alternative or Windows Media, or QT.
