Setting my Homepage to another Section/page besides Default?
Hi,
I folded my static website into a Textpattern blog. Unfortunately, I found out that the only way I can set my static website’s home page to show first is if I set it as the Default. Naturally, my blog’s Search Result didn’t like this. Now I’ve set my static homepage as section /home/ and my blog as section /blog/
Is there some way I can show /home/ first instead of “default” when anyone visits http://www.argentofchange.com/ ?
This is the page I want to show up first : http://www.argentofchange.com/home/
Thanks very much!

Re: Setting my Homepage to another Section/page besides Default?
Aiee, it seems I’m not the only one who wants the Default section and FrontPage to be separated. It’s an official feature request!

But seriously, is there any way I can hack at this thing (even using htaccess) so I can get my domain to point to where it needs to be? i tried twiddling with htaccess but it…just…doesn’t…work.

Er, why do you think you want this? As one of my favourite movie characters said: “I do not think it means what you think it means.” I’m pretty certain argentorange was also confusing this with the feature request he linked to. :)
For instance, yes, the search does use the default page, but you can easily use if_search to make the front page and search results page look different. You could also direct searches to their own section entirely using search_input.
Does that cover what you’re trying to achieve, or are you after something else?

Re: Setting my Homepage to another Section/page besides Default?
No it is not. My default section is “Start”. The problem is with my nav-plugin <txp:cbs_navigation_menu>. I want the “Start”-tab to be active both when the visitor clicks the start-tab (http://www.mydomain.com/start) and when navigating to http://www.mydomain.com cause its the same section.
If I could redirect my visitors from http://www.mydomain.com to http://www.mydomain.com/start the problem would be solved.
