database unavailable issue

Hmm ok, i’m getting this almost frequently for the last week or so. I’m running two different txp blogs on one database. I upgraded my blog to the latest version but have not yet upgraded the other one, could that be the reason thats causing my database to act wierd? Even my stats page is not showing at all. Is it a known loophole?

Re: database unavailable issue

There might be a corruption in the database. Use PHPMyAdmin to fix problems. Also check out here

Re: database unavailable issue

Colak,

Thanks, I’ve already tried repairing the database but still it persisted. That link is useful, I strongly suspect it’s because i’m on a shared/virtual host, so that could be the main issue there. I guess i’ve to contact the admin regarding it though i reckon theres nothing much can be done about it.

Thanks again, appreciate the help!

Cheers.

Re: database unavailable issue

I use a bookmarklet to add links to my Textpattern website. I’ve found that when I occasionally do get the database unavailable message after my bookmarklet window pops up, that it has something to do with the website I’m currently viewing. That is, I can immediately click on another open tab for a different website, hit the bookmarklet and connect to my website just fine…there seems to be something that happens with certain websites.

I realize that’s a bit all over the place and it doesn’t help you…but I thought it might be helpful information for more capable troubleshooters…

Re: database unavailable issue

rtxpn,

It’s probably just coincidence. The FAQ explains the message. It’s caused by your server, not Textpattern.
