Custom Inputforms (Custom Content Types)
Hi,
I’ve been using TXP for a while on my site: http://www.onrails.be .
I’m extremely pleased with it, but at the moment I’m working on a bigger site:
A community website for my brother’s track&field club.
I’d like to use TXP as a backend for it, but I need some more features than a standard TXP install.
Would it be possible to create some sort of custom Inputforms,
where you could have a form like
*athlete
*birthdate
*club
*info
instead of the standard
*title
*article
Could i use a mod to accomplish this? A plugin? Hack TXP?
(I’m actually testing Drupal at the moment. I’m looking for something like the Flexinode module. I like the features drupal offers, but I really dislike it’s look&feel, it’s complexity,…)
thanks in advance,
Johan.

Re: Custom Inputforms (Custom Content Types)
Thanks!
That’s almost what I’m looking for.
It’s a shame the custom fields are limited to 255 characters, and that they can’t contain a picture.
regards,
Johan.

Re: Custom Inputforms (Custom Content Types)
By the way: I noticed you developed quite a lot of TXP-plugins (I visited yor website).
Since I will probably need a lot of plugins for the new site I’ll be developing,
I was wondering how I could find the best plugins for the job:
- Is there a way to find out which plugins are the most used, the most downloaded, the best rated,…? It’s a shame textpattern.org doesn’t offer this functionality.
- Is there a way to see if a plugin is still actively developed/maintained? A lot of times I encounter dead links, text that states that the functionality of a certain plugin is the same as another plugin (which is better…).
Or is the only way to learn more about good plugins the forum?
I could ask questions like:
what’s the best plugin for incorporating Flickr images into your site, and show them as a gallery?
what’s the best plugin for using ajax effects (lightbox,…)?
regards,
Johan.

There is a simple hack to overcome this limitation:
