php functions necessary to run txp
G’ evening Guys,
I installed Textpattern on a free host without any errors, but in the Diagnostics-Tab I get the following error:
The following PHP functions (which may be necessary to run Textpattern) are disabled on your server: system,shell_exec,passthru,set_time_limit,error_log,ini_alter,dl,pfsockopen,openlog,syslog,readlink,symlink,link,leak,popen,escapeshellcmd,apache_child_terminate apache_get_modules,apache_get_version,apache_getenv,apache_note,apache_setenv,virtual
I don’t think that every single php-function listed here is really necessary to run Txp – I would want to know which function should be enabled and which i don’t have to care of staying disabled to run Txp. I don’t really know that much about setting up a hosting-environment and why just these functions have been disabled, and so I would really appreciate it if someone can explain the functions and why they are (not) necessary to run Textpattern.

I don’t think TXP needs any of functions you mention. As long as TXP works error-free, you can ignore this.
If you want to know what they do, visit www.php.net.

Re: php functions necessary to run txp
As far as I know, having those functions disabled shouldn’t be a problem.
