Maintaining Category Context
Take this as an example:
A user is viewing a list of articles in a category and can navigate older and newer articles in that category using the older/newer links.
If he selects an article to read, the next and previous articles are not limited to the category but to the section and do not relate to the previous list category.
(if the article is the only one in the section, then there are no next/previous articles).
Maybe it’s just me – but isn’t this a little annoying? Is there any way round this?

It was this comment that confused me on the “Txp:link to next” Textbook page.
“Note: This tag is context-sensitive, meaning it will only grab content from the section or category being viewed.”

low_nav: The link to the plug-in is long dead and it didn’t work with txp RC3, which is 5 versions ago by now. It’s a pity, because I had to jump through hoops to get this apparently simple notion working on a client site.
My convoluted workaround using cookies to track the currently chosen category is described in this thread on link_to_next & prev within a category. Reptilerobots had a slightly simpler setup and got it working slightly differently too -> same thread.
I’d love to know if there’s a simpler way.

Jakob, you’re right – the link just takes me to a site trying to see me Justin Timberlake tickets! Eek! Seems that an elegant solution to this problem is going to be hard to find!
Mary – instead of altering the Textbook page – couldn’t you just alter Txp to provide that functionality! ;-)
