List Categories with a recent article in them.

I have tried looking in the plug-ins are to no avail. Here’s the scenario.

I’ve posted articles to several categories. On my home page I have a basic article_custom that loads an article form that shows nothing but a tag-wrapped category1.

This is fine when I submit a single article to a category… but sometimes I submit an article in several parts to a category.

So wheras if I am all over the place, the recent categories list looks like:

Plants
Animals
Music
Food
Sleep

But if I write several pages on Animals, it will show:

Plants
Plants
Plants
Animals
Music

I want to be able to group these categories so that whether I post something new to the Plants category or a whole series, I will only see:

Plants (4)
Animals (1)
Music (4)
Food (3)
Sleep (5000)

Are there any plug-ins or powers that be in 4.0.4 that will allow this?

Try using if_different.
