[issue] Any idea why I get characters in the visitor logs and only there?
Hi,
Well the title says it all: I get characters on illogical places in the “visitor logs”.
Like
53572700.cable.casema.nl category/Vissen and
53572700.cable.casema.nl article/19/help-wat-een-grote-vis In the last example the actually replaces a “?”, but the former replaces nothing at all….strange…
Anyone?

Edit: sorry I forgot to mention I upgraded from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 which resulted in the issue.

Hi Mary (or anyone here for that matter),
What do I actually need to restate?
In my message I presented the way my “visitor logs” page looks like (after upgrading from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4), so with those strange characters. Sometimes they even replace links to pages.
Please find an image highlighting the issue more clearly here

What browser are you using? Does it happen if you try a different browser? Does it change if you force your browser’s character encoding to UTF-8?

I use IE6, with UTF-8 setting. Never had issues like this.
But….in IE7 on my laptop there is no problem. So this problem solves itself…at least for me!
Still it’s a bit odd.

(The screenshot helps. I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t see any strange characters in your original post, which had me confused.)

I get the same problem in IE6. Visitor logs contain squares. If I use Firefox the problem disappears.

Those squares are the zero-width-space (​) characters inserted by the TXP soft_wrap function.
