Spacing in text in the admin panels

I updated to 4.0.4 a few days ago, and it seemed to go without a hitch, except for a few minor issues. In the admin panels now, there are sometimes spaces in text which should have any spaces. Here’s an example from my Visitor Logs tab:

Another minor problem I have is that the Content / Comments tab, the comments now take up the entire width of the browser window, which wasn’t the case prior to upgrading. Anyone know what might be up?

Thanks,
Philip

Re: Spacing in text in the admin panels

What browser are you using? Do the extra spaces show up in a different one?

Re: Spacing in text in the admin panels

Even from your screenshot, I’m not sure I follow what the problem is?

Edit: oh, there it is, never mind. :)

Re: Spacing in text in the admin panels

The spaces show up in both Safari and Camino (most recent stable versions), and the comments tab is even worse in Camino, screenshot here:

You can see the date is all scrunched up with too small a width, and the actual comment section takes up far more width than it need. In Safari it is the same, except it restricts the total width to the size of the safari window.

Re: Spacing in text in the admin panels

It seems they’re printing HTML entity 8203 (Zero width space) every 30 characters. Changes where columns break on resize, and I can see how that seems like a good idea, but it shows up similarly screwy in Firefox 2 (Mac) for me, too.

Re: Spacing in text in the admin panels

Is the comment line too long if you uncheck the ‘Detail’ box at bottom left?

Re: Spacing in text in the admin panels

The Detail box is already unchecked in that image.
