Have a clean URL of a page output without creating another section

I have a news section where news are tagged per category. Content from this section is put into another part of the website (with file_get_contents).

I have another page called news_stats where it shows not only the news but also news cloud, news categories, edit-me links and a bunch of other stuff that is relevant only to a set of writers.

I want a clean URL for this news_stats. Do I REALLY need to create another section called news_stats to have this nice URL or is there a better way to do this. I don’t want to litter my section box in the write tab with all kind of sections simply because I want different view of the same section.

There’s a plugin floating around somewhere that lets you customize alls kinds of urls. Unfortunately, I can’t find it, nor remember what it is called. :S Hopefully someone who knows what I’m talking about can be more helpful.
