Problem with permissions on images folder
Hello,
When I try to upload images I get this error at the top of the page:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 618 is not allowed to access /tmp/txp_EDwNVR owned by uid 48 in /home/virtual/site115/fst/var/www/html/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php on line 1197
I already went into the admin for my hosting and changed the permissions on that images folder to enable writing to that directory.
Does anyone have any further suggestions on where I need to change permissions?
Thanks!!!

Re: Problem with permissions on images folder
Looks like it’s not about file permissions, but file ownership.
Try creating a tmp directory like /home/virtual/site115/fst/var/www/tmp and set that as tmp directory in the Textpattern preferences.

Re: Problem with permissions on images folder
I tried doing this and I still get the error. I also get an error on the diagnostics page:
“Temporary directory path is not writable”
Does anyone have any more insight into this?
Thanks!

Re: Problem with permissions on images folder
I should add that I am hosting the site with Media Temple. If anyone knows how to correct the “Temporary directory path is not writable” error on the textpatern diagnostics, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

Re: Problem with permissions on images folder
If you already have a “tmp” folder in your “textpattern” directory, then the correct path is /home/virtual/site115/fst/var/www/html/textpattern/tmp.
