Re: Upgrading to 4.0.4

  • Inside your “textpattern” folder, you should have a folder named “tmp”. Go to the Advanced admin preferences, and for your temporary directory path, enter: /var/www/websites/riverterrace.co.uk/public_html/textpattern/tmp
  • The modified files version means that you either did not up upload the new files, or, you did not upload the new checksums.txt file.

Re: Upgrading to 4.0.4

Thankyou Mary

The tmp path is now fine
I have re uploaded the checksum file and the other ofending files, to no avail, I am still getting the ‘Some Textpattern files have been modified:’ message for all the files and the ‘Clean URL test failed.’ is still there.

Many thanks for all your help

Your FTP program, or whatever else you’re using to upload or copy the files, might be altering the line endings.

‘Clean URL test failed.’ is still there.

This means clean URLs aren’t working properly. You might have to edit .htaccess, or switch to “messy” URLs if your server doesn’t support it.

Re: Upgrading to 4.0.4

Many Thanks Zem,
Should have burrowed deeper into FAQs.
I am using Transmit 3.5 for ftp, I will ask a friend to reload the textpattern folder useing a different ftp client
though it is curious I had none of these problems uploading 4.0.3
