4.0.4. Wont acknowledge my 777's
Looking at diagnostics and I get red flags for not having a writable files or tmp folder. I went and chmodded them to 777, logged out then back in adn still I get this warning. Any clues?

Are you sure the paths are absolutely correct? No typos, etc?

Your server isn’t running PHP as a CGI (?) module? (where 755 is used instead)

Mary you were right. I had my file and tmp directoryies under my http address when I should have used the FTP one instead. Many thanks to you and jm, as I will keep his suggestion in mind for any future troubleshooting.
