Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

Ok. I’m pretty much done, and through testing it to make sure it works, I’ve come across a rather baffling problem that I haven’t solved yet.

I’m still working on it, and hopefully, it should be done within the next couple of days if I can ever figure out the cookie / authentication issue (which was working, but somehow, stopped)

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

Recent discovery. The authentication issue is unique to Firefox type browsers. It works in IE, it works in Opera, but not in Firefox.

I’m trying to figure out a workaround, but until then, … grumble

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

!!!Update!!! I’m done. Later today (this weekend most likely) I’ll setup a working textpattern demo, and will then set it up for ransom.

I solved the firefox problem by sending a token to the flash application, which is then resent when files are uploaded. If it’s correct, the files are processed, if not, they’re deleted.

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

Demo can be found here: ericlimegrover.com/textpattern/

Username: Demo
Password: m0fqn6

The plugin link can be found on the images page (everything else is disabled).

The ransom amount will be set at $250.00. I’ll have this setup sometime this weekend (so long as there aren’t any obvious issues to be encountered)

Edit: Also, It does work on 4.0.4

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

er… didn’t work. In Firefox, with about 7 images, resized, thumbnailed, and adding a new category.

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

Were they large images? What kind of files were they?

What exactly did it do that didn’t work?

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

7 jpegs, 800px wide. It said it worked, though the process-bar acted kind of strange (freezed for a while then suddenly said it was all done), and the images haven’t appeared in the images tab. Maybe it is because I asked them to resize them to 800 px wide while they were already.

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

Ah. I think I know what happened.

There are now three status labels.

Uploading

Obviously, this is when the files are transfering. The green status bar will move as the files progress.

Processing Image Uploads

Once the files are uploaded into the batch folder, the script is then called that processes the uploaded files & imports into TXP. Nothing is shown during this period. The speed at which this varies upon the quality and quantity of the images uploaded. (Although, I’m thinking I may change that now)

Processing Complete.

TA DA!!!

Try it again, and if it gets stuck (for more than a few minutes), let me know at which point it did.

Also, when you get the popup again, make sure it says Revision A.001 in the top right corner of the flash file.

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

Yep, the process bar works a ton better. But it still didn’t work. The images didn’t show up in the image tab, nor did they in the table in the flash interface, after the processing is complete.

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

Also, but that’s really just a detail, when you’re in the width field (resize) and press tab to go to the next field, it goes to the height field (resize).

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

ARGGGH!! It’s an authentication issue, again. This time it’s not unique to Firefox. I’ll get to work on it again this weekend.

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

I uploaded about 3 images using Firefox with the following options:

Resize: 200×20
Thumbnail: 50×50
Category: Stuff

The upload bar went through and the Processing Complete Message appeared, but when closing the window and clicking on the images tab again my new images didn’t appear.

A few little niggles.

In the Resize area, when tabbing through it doesn’t go in the correct order. It jumps straight from Height to the Generate Thumbnail options, bypassing the width option for Resize.

The upload dialogue box that appears is the old style one and cannot be resized. It makes it a pain to browse for images when you have to keep scrolling. I’m guessing this is related to Flash though.

Also would it be possible to have a button for the Batch Upload. The hyperlink is quite small and I completely missed it at first.

Thank you for all your hard work.

Re: EBL_BatchUpload plugin preview

I just gave it a try.

I uploaded four images. Closed the pop-up Batch Upload window. Refreshed the Images tab. Saw the four images I uploaded. I clicked on Batch Upload to try it again. I uploaded three images. After the process completed I was informed that my seven images were uploaded. I refreshed the Images tab and yup… there were duplicate entries for the first four followed by the three new images.
