Post a special character in the site name

I’m trying to post â (â) in the site name input, but the ampersand keeps getting converted, so the output is â. The entity works fine with the site slogan though. Is there a way to prevent ampserands from being converted in the title, or to get special characters converted to their appropriate entities?

Re: Post a special character in the site name

Why do you want an entity? Why not simply use the character?

Re: Post a special character in the site name

Thanks – I always thought it was invalid HTML, but guess I was wrong. That solves my problem then! What if (sort of a large “what if”) a user’s site name has an ampersand in it, like Me&I Co.? Inserting it as an entity and character still creates Me&I Co.

In the end, I guess I’m wondering why sitename and site_slogan behavior is different, with respect to entities.
