Wanted: TXP 4.0.3

I know it’s an odd request, but I am wanting to test the feasibility of a project and the plugins I need only work with 4 to 4.0.3 at the moment. Does anyone have a backup of TXP 4.0.3 that they can email to me?

Alternatively does anyone know if the setup script for v4 or 4.0.4 will work with 4.0.3? I can download my copy that my main website uses, but obviously it is missing the setup files.

Apologies for being stupid, but how do I download all that? Do I have to click on each file and download it that way? Or is there a way to batch download the files?

If you just want the setup files, then each file separately is probably easiest, since there aren’t that many files in the setup dir. Otherwise you may want to use SVN, which is documented either in the FAQ at textpattern.com or in one of the stickies here at the forum.

But… unless you’ve got plugins that break completely in 4.0.3 and cannot be fixed within reasonable time, you’re better off with 4.0.4, especially since it does fix some security issues.

It seems odd to me to remove the ability for users to get a previous release when a new one comes out.

Yes, they can grab a copy via SVN but why put them through all that trouble?

Because we don’t want people running old versions, and that would encourage that, or at least confuse the hell out of people. If you need it for a particular reason, that’d be different. The vast majority do not need it. :)
