Know this wont help you that much but I run 4.0.3 and 4.0.2 and it works on both of those for me

Version 0.3 for TXP 4.0.4
The rss_admin_show_adv_opts plugin has been updated for Textpattern 4.0.4.
There is a new hidden menu on the Content -> Write tab that can be expanded by clicking the More link under the “Sort and Display” section in the rightmost column. The plugin has been updated to automatically expand that menu in addition to the Advanced Options menu.

You can use ied_hide_in_admin instead. I don’t think rss plugins are still maintained by the author.

It’s works to me!
I upgraded a website, and installed the plugin, after i activated it it worked!
Try removing and installing the plugin again!

It would be better, in fact, if these were core triggers in the Write panel and ditch need for plugins on this.

ditto. i’m don’t think this would make me go back to 4.0.6, but i’m wondering if other plugins are not working with .7 as well?

As masa has already noted, I don’t think wilshire plugins are supported anymore (by the developer), which is probably the issue here (Ed. Doh! I’m using it).
Wet has since indicated this function of expanding (or not) interface tool lists will be a core feature in the next (or thereabouts) release.

I think it’s not an issue of downgrading. In my case, the plugin didn’t work in 4.0.6, but does in 4.0.7.
A mystery? Yes. :-)

Essential? Mmmm, certainly in their day for many folks, but arguably not anymore (I only ever used this one), not with the tag abilities these days and the newer plugins since wilshire’s time. Exception maybe being the Admin DB manager. I suppose wilshire’s plugins hang in there because they’re used ubiquitously from yesteryear, and other developers keep then afloat with patches and whatnot. It would be nice to see wilshire come around again, though you can’t rely on that.
