Help me set up my testing area
I need help setting up my testing environment.
I have www.mydomain.com. At the root of this domain I had index.html which is just a “coming soon” type page and then I had index.php (the default textpattern page). However, all of a sudden I noticed that when I went to www.mydomain.com I was seeing index.php instead of index.html.
How can I have my coming soon page come up when people go to www.mydomain.com and still preview my textpattern site at index.php?
thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Help me set up my testing area
In the root is a file called .htaccess, rename it to something like hold.htaccess.
You’ll have to make sure your Permanent link mode is set to ?=messy and you’ll be able to test out your site.

Re: Help me set up my testing area
I did that and it didn’t work.
Is there any way to just tell text pattern that the default page at the root level of www.mydomain.com is index_test.php instead of index.php (apparently I need my coming soon page to be index.php)
I’m talking about the root level – not the www.mydomain.com/textpattern/index.php
Thanks so much for your expertise ;o)
