Great minds, eh? ;)

I certainly agree with you this functionality should be part of a future Textpattern release. As it is now, Textpattern is not ideal for community sites where there are a lot of people posting.

To name another example, I’d really like to see a plugin that would, for users with privileges under a certain level, limit the articles that they see in the articles view to just their own. Seeing everyone’s articles only confuses people.

Hm… that’ll be a bit tricky, but I’ll look into it.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Oh, and good news: there is now an option to “change author” in the articles list view, which is included in the core of Textpattern.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

The updated version did not work for me even when it was the only plugin ativated, so I reinstalled 2.2 and changed the var i value as mentioned earlier. That worked.

Thanks!

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Sorry, I forgot to mention: the menu should now appear under the “More” menu in the right sidebar. Is it not appearing there either?

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Actually, changing the variable didn’t work either. I updated to the new version again, then clicked on the ‘more’ tab (thank you! lol) and it goes through all the motions to change author, but it doesn’t change the author. I have publisher rights and it’s still not working. It doesn’t matter if it’s one of my articles or if another writer on the site was the owner.

If I can’t get this to work I’ll have to revert the site back to 4.0.3, which really is not that big of a deal. 4.0.4 is nice, but without being able to transfer owners, it’s too much of a pain to dig through the database for every writer change.

I just checked the article list. It DOES work when I select several articles and switch them there. Not on the write page though. That’s enough to keep me from going back to 4.0.3 at least.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Sorry to be a nag, but it was very convenient to have the authors listed alphabetically. It’s back to being listed by database key again it looks like.

Ren

ADDED: Also, I have over 100 authors to chose from.. The drop down on the article list page only shows 19.

Changing author on the article-list is a built-in feature of 4.0.4.

It looks like it’s a plugin conflict because when I shut down every other plugin (Once I found the More link) it’s working fine.

Ren

I turned on asy_sitemap and it stopped working.

I’m using asy_sitemap v0.7 btw. It seems to be the only plugin I use that is conflicting with your plug-in, and the error is:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare page_title() (previously declared in /home/frontst/public_html/textpattern/publish/taghandlers.php:16) in /home/frontst/public_html/textpattern/publish/taghandlers.php on line 16

Active plugins: zem_contact-0.6, ajw_admin_workflow-0.3, rss_admin_db_manager-4.1, mcw_templates-0.2, zem_article_info-0.1, rss_article_edit-0.1, rss_suparchive-0.16.1m

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Weird, because this plugin doesn’t use or redefine page_title(). Plus, that doesn’t sound like the type of plugin that would conflict with this… unless the error/notice is preventing the javascript from being executed?

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

LOL, You put that question mark in there like I have a clue!

I was going to try testing the asy_sitemap plugin with other admin side plugins that changed anything on the write tab, but it looks like yours is the only one I have. Yours works great though! Sorry to be an alarmist.

Re: [archive] ajw_admin_workflow

Are you running your site in “Live” Production Status (admin -> preferences)? If not, try switching to Live and enable all plugins as normal. This will prevent any php or plugin-related errors/notices to be displayed at the top of the page. Then go see if this plugin works.

If all of the above are the case and work, my guess would be that the error text at the top of the page is preventing javascript from executing properly (because it would invalidate the page’s html). No javascript, no plugin :-)
