Emphasis and strong don't always work as they ought.

Well, the title says it all. Text such as the following does not process (the underscores are not converted):

(Some more text of dubious character. Here is a noisome string of CAPITAL letters. Here is something we want to emphasize.)

It has nothing to do with the length of the text, but with the appearance of a character such as “, ‘, (, ) etc. after the first underscore. Markdown processes this correctly, by the way. I’d have switched over, but Markdown does not support a tag for attributing classes to pararagraphs and such.

Is this a known limitation of the algorithm or can users expect a fix sometime in the future?

Works fine with the current version of Textile. FAQ.

It works in the current version (also in Txp 4.0.4):

Looks like you just need to update.

Mpf, my bad :) Matter of factly, I did upgrade but apparently I was still testing on my old version – d’oh. Anyway, thanks.

Emphasis on more than one line changed.

On my posts I would do something line this:

_This is the first line
This is the second line_

Now I have to do:

_This is the first line_
_This is the seconds line_
