r1951 - some files have been modified

On my test site that’s been updated from SVN for the last 7 months, I’m getting this line in the diagnostics tab.

Some Textpattern files have been modified: /include/txp_image.php,
/lib/class.thumb.php

Textpattern version: 4.0.4 (r1951)

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

Oh, I didn’t know you were using TortoiseSVN.

svn is the command-line programm. svn st is short for svn status, which lets you know the status between your local copy and the unaltered checkout from the repository.

In Textpattern you will get the message:
Some Textpattern files have been modified: /include/txp_image.php,
/lib/class.thumb.php

when the md5-hashes of the files do not match the original ones. The most likely reason for that is, that you have made modifications to those files. svn status would have shown that.

I’m getting the same message while running 4.0.4. No mods made to the affected files. Can’t post any svn thing ‘cause I’m a noob. :)

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

Sencer, my local SVN repository has never been changed by me.

I just unpacked the 4.0.4 zip and did a comparison against the SVN tree and they are both identical.

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

In diagnostics (high level), you should be seeing the hashes of your files (See here and here). The two relevant ines should read:

/include/txp_image.php: r1922 (a47c37636b7a2bedc4b15208af7a6dfd)

/lib/class.thumb.php: r1879 (78e4339bb1d65978b1c57698d1bf3f49)

If you have different hashes, then someone or something changed the files. I’ve checked on 3 textpattern installs, and mdsum’ed the files from each downloads, as well from a fresh svn-checkout), and they seem like they shoud be. (No pre-flight-message message either)

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

Diagnostics (high, on 4.0.4, upgraded from 4.0.3) says:

/include/txp_image.php: r1922 (a5d52ea4e8e5a2edba85a2e68210b1fd)

/lib/class.thumb.php: r1879 (c21c86b865b6244cf42810f227e3790b)

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

These are mine:

/include/txp_image.php: r1922 (a5d52ea4e8e5a2edba85a2e68210b1fd)
/lib/class.thumb.php: r1879 (c21c86b865b6244cf42810f227e3790b)

I’ll update one of my Textpattern sites with the 4.0.4 zip and see what happens.

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

Are both of you using TortoiseSVN?

It’s possible that Tortoise does some kind of unix/windows conversion to the files. Or maybe something to do with silently removing or adding a utf8-BOM. Not sure. Also odd, that it only happens with those two files.

Can either of you send me one of the files via email. Thanks.

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

I’m also getting that same message… For what it’s worth, I downloaded these files from the official download page and updated my site with these files.

/include/txp_image.php: r1922 (a5d52ea4e8e5a2edba85a2e68210b1fd)
/lib/class.thumb.php: r1879 (c21c86b865b6244cf42810f227e3790b)

Oddly enough, neither of these errors are showing up on my dev site, which I keep up to date via svn (the normal unix command line util (I’m at TXD)). I am, however, getting this error:

/lib/txplib_html.php: r1937 (cb4ec1d28903eaded54f0be2a8122e6a)

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

I did an md5sum check on Windows in the both my local SVN repository and the 4.0.4 zip, both files have the correct MD5 string as per Sencer’s post.

I use WinSCP to SFTP up the files to my server, text mode for PHP files. For some reason these two files have a different file size on the server than on my local machine. I’ve done the copy a few times to no avail.

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

Neko, thank you, WHen I do a diff between the files you uploaded, and the ones I get from the official download, I do get differences (only line-endings, but that’s enough to get a different md5hash). I am still not sure how or where that happens. Looks like there are a couple of ^M in those two files, and something in the toolchain you guys are using “fixes” this. Judging from what hcgtv wrote (thanks for the info, and for checking the hashes!), WinSCP seems to be a candidate. Neko, are those files the one you got directly after extracting the official zip (what did you extract with? What did you zip with?) – or did you also transfer the files to and then from the server, before zipping them?

Is everybody who is getting this, using WinSCP?

Re: r1951 - some files have been modified

Nope, I’m not. I’m using a mac.

The issue with txp_image.php and class.thumb.php I get after I downloaded the gzip from the official site, decompressed on my local machine, and then uploaded to my server.

EDIT:
Ok, so the issue I was having on my dev server with txplib_html.php was actually my own fault. I had changed the file, and yeah….
Now I feel silly.
