Export Mechanism for Articles/Comments

Hello,

i would like to have an “Export/Import” Feature for Articles/Comments in the Textpattern Admin Interface.

So i can save/backup all my Articles/Comments and could import it if i have to make a new installation of Textpattern.

Thank you so much for this great CMS!

Regards

phpMyAdmin, a common feature of shared hosting webspace. Export both ‘textpattern’ and ‘txp_discuss’ tables.

Just those two tables isn’t enough to recreate your website on a fresh install. You may want to export the other textpattern tables as well. Have a look at the rss_admin_db_manager plugin.

Hi,

i tried this “rss_admin_db_manager” plugin, but if i start the backup feature i receive Error Messages.

if i export the Tables from phpMyAdmin and try to import it over the Textpattern Admin Interface with the choice of “Moveable File” than i get the error message:

“max_execution_time = 330”

I have exported the tables as a SQL File and renamed it to “import.txt” and put it in /textpattern/include/import/

What can i do?

Thansk.

Re: Export Mechanism for Articles/Comments

If you export in PHPmyadmin, you can also import in PHPmyadmin, me thinks.

i thought this too, but i don’t find any options to import something… i can create a new table and put data in it, but there is no import function…

Re: Export Mechanism for Articles/Comments

Select the correct database in PHPmyadmin and choose the SQL tab at the top. There you can import the previously exported file.

perfect! Now it works. I just exported the “textpattern” and the “txp_discuss*” tables and imported the file over the phpMyAdmin Interface and now the articles/comments are there in a new and fresh and clean Textpattern installation!

Thank you! :)
