display categories that are in sections which aren't on the first page

Maybe this is a silly beginners question, but I can’t find an easy answer neither here nor in the FAQ that I can understand and use (maybe if english was my first language but…).

My problem is that when I publish an article in a section that I don’t want to show on the first page the category links does’nt seem to work.

In my example I have a section named food that I don’t want to show on the first page, and for articles in that section I’m using categories like fish, vegetables, pasta etc. But as long as I’ve put NO for “on front page” the category links doesn’t work. As soons as I change the NO to YES in the sections page the category links starts to work again.

I’m using the Three-Columns_MX4_TXP -template and have reinstalled it (I thought that maybe some of the changes I did caused this problem…)
All my sections are using duplicates of the default page template and the same default style.

Thank you ahead of time and I hope I can get this to work in an esy way :)

Here it is, in swedish and I’ve just started to add some articles from my old site
www.curious.nu

the section food is
http://www.curious.nu/mat
and all the categories displayed belongs to articles under that section

for the moment articles in the section food i set to display on the first page, but I can change that

Re: display categories that are in sections which aren't on the first page

By default, category links point to the frontpage, you can change that by setting the ‘section’ attribute in the category tag. This ‘section’ attribute doesn’t exist in Textpattern 4.0.3, but will be available in the upcoming 4.0.4 version of Textpattern (hopefully released this week).

Without attribute ‘section’, the Fisk category link is:
http://www.curious.nu/category/Fisk/

With the attribute ‘section’ it will be:
http://www.curious.nu/mat/?c=Fisk
