Online Textile Preview

..is now at a new address: http://textile.thresholdstate.com/.

It’s the exact same version of Textile as included in Textpattern 4.0.4. The quick reference guide in the left column has been updated to reflect changes and improvements in syntax.

If you haven’t yet updated to a 4.0.4 preview, but are hoping for Textile fixes or additions, you can try out the new version there. It has a built-in bug report form for problems.

Re: Online Textile Preview

Alex,

I like the speed of it, the old site at times took a while to render, thanks for putting this up.

I have one small suggestion – glancing at the quick reference guide on the left, it’s a bit hard to distinguish a heading like Phrase modifiers: between the actual syntax. Could the headings or the syntax be a different color?

PS. How about <code><title>Textile: A Humane Web Text Generator</title></code>

Re: Online Textile Preview

Alex,

it’s completly impossible to read the text in the left and right columns on a MAC because it’s tiny.

Thanks, Lee

Re: Online Textile Preview

Internet Explorer 6sp2 doesn’t show the textareas in the right place. They have moved down till below the end of the left column. Probably some width setting that is just a bit too tight for MSIE.

The left/right column text is small on Windows/MSIE as well. Still readable for me, but a bit bigger would be nice.

Nevertheless, finally having an up-to-date list of textile syntax is very much appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Online Textile Preview

I made some quick adjustments to the font and textarea sizes. Better?

Re: Online Textile Preview

Alex,

Looking towards the future, I see Textpattern being used in places where connectivity is nonexistent and on Intranets where firewalls prevent hitting sites outside the perimeter.

What will be of these users that can’t access admin side help or the Textile site?

The Textile documentation and preview code is available for license.

Re: Online Textile Preview

textareas in MSIE look good now. I’ll leave the fonts up to the Mac people as they seem to suffer the most (they look the same size as before to me).
